A desire burned in the heart of St. Clare—
- to give herself totally to Jesus Christ, the poor and crucified One, who had given Himself totally for her. It was this longing that led her to leave a comfortable life of security for a life of simplicity and self-giving. So it is today in the heart of one called to be a daughter of Clare. Her love for God is deeper than all the other loves of her life, and she knows that she will never be completely happy unless she is completely His.

  have at least a high school education
  
  have good physical and mental health
  
  feel drawn to a life of prayer and penance, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls
  
  desire to belong completely to Jesus and to imitate Him in His poverty, obedience, and chaste love.
